General Exceptions (The Right of Defense)

The "Shield" of the BNS:

Chapter III of the BNS outlines circumstances where an act, which would otherwise be an offence, is not punishable. This includes Private Defense (Self-Defense), acts by children, and persons of unsound mind. The BNS preserves the core principles of the IPC but renumbers them into Sections 14 to 44.
